When Helt Law Group, a Chicago-based immigration attorney practice, approached us for a website redesign, their existing site was doing nothing to differentiate them in one of the most competitive legal markets in the United States. The Client
Helt Law Group is a Chicago immigration law firm serving individuals, families, and businesses across the United States. Their practice covers employment-based immigration, family petitions, naturalization, DACA, and removal defense. Their clients include both individual immigrants navigating complex personal situations and corporate clients managing international employee relocations.
The Challenge
The existing website had several critical problems holding the firm back:
- Outdated design that did not reflect the professionalism of the practice

- Poor mobile experience at a time when over 65% of their traffic came from mobile devices
- No SEO foundation with practice area pages lacking keyword optimisation

Our Approach
Discovery and Strategy
We started with a thorough discovery process: reviewing existing analytics, auditing competitors in the Chicago immigration law space, interviewing the firm about their ideal client profile, and identifying the keywords with the highest commercial intent for their practice areas.
Design Direction
We chose a clean, professional design in navy and gold tones that immediately signals authority and trust. Professional photography of the attorney and office was prioritised from day one. Stock photography of generic courtroom imagery was eliminated entirely.
Site Architecture
We restructured the site around the client journey rather than the firm structure. Instead of organising pages by internal firm categories, we built dedicated pages for each immigration situation a potential client might be facing: family immigration, employment visas, citizenship, deportation defense, and DACA. Each page was written to answer the specific questions and fears of that client type.
SEO Foundation
Every page was optimised for specific local search terms including practice area plus Chicago variations. Schema markup was implemented for the legal service and local business. Google Business Profile was overhauled with complete information, updated photos, and a systematic review generation process.
Conversion Optimisation
We added a prominent free consultation offer above the fold on every key page, simplified the contact form to three fields only, added click-to-call on mobile, and implemented a live chat option for after-hours enquiries.
The Results
Within six months of launch, the results were significant:
- Organic search traffic increased by over 140%
- Contact form submissions increased by 85%
